Polyurethane Product Range
Techsil's own Vactech 200 - 80° Shore D, Rapid Demould which is a fully pigmentable Vacuum Casting System. BJB also supply ranges of Shore A and D general purpose systems.
The F-Series is a line of fast demoulding systems that can be hand or machine cast. The ST series are high performance, hand castable systems, with high tear and tensile strengths.
Quick demouldable, machine cast materials exhibiting high impact and tough abrasion resistance.
This comprehensive line-up of rigid casting urethanes is offered with prototyping and production in mind. These materials were formulated to simulate a wide array of thermoplastic products, such as ABS and Polycarbonate. With a vast range of work times, physical properties and fire-retardancy.70° to 84° Shore D Hand + Vacuum cast systems. Rapid demould, flame retardent and low shrinkage are all available from this range.
Often referred to as filled fast-cast resins, these products are often used for making molds, holding fixtures and architectural models. These systems exhibit extremely low exotherm and low shrinkage. TC-812 can easily be machined or carved, making it ideal for model development.
This group of flexible and rigid casting resins has been designed for use in applications requiring tough, tintable and pigmentable materials that will also maintain clarity in outdoor applications. With an array of hardnesses and working times, these materials are excellent for fabricating parts of all kinds.
Rigid and flexible foams with densities from 2.5lb/cu ft to 20lb/cu ft. Common uses are bumpers, seat cushions, prosthesis components and puppets.
15° to 25° Shore A, used for a variety of applications from animatronics to electrical potting.
Potting and Encapsulation
Used to insulate, seal and increase performance of electronic and electrical devices, including the protection of automotive electronics, control boxes, potting and sealing of cable joint assemblies.
Potting and Encapsulation Compounds:
- Provide environmental protection
- Protect from vibration
- Provide electrical insulation
- Allow fast efficient heat transfer from electronic components to heat sinks or outer casings.
- Are suitable for both thin and deep section cure
Standard current applications include:
- Transformers
- PCB Encapsulation
- Electronic Components
- Switchgear
- Capacitors / Suppressors
- Ballasts / Lighting
- Cable Jointing
Techsil encapsulants and potting compounds feature:
- Wide range of mix ratios, hardness, viscosity
- UL94 V-0 grades
- Optically clear grade
- Soft gels
- Thermally conductive grades
Techsil encapsulants and potting compounds are available as Polyurethane, Silicone and Epoxy products offering specific operating characteristics. The ranges offer UL94-V0 flame retarding where required e.g.
-
Polyurethane - Lower cost, elastomers and rigid systems. Temperature is limited to -50 to 130°C max.
-
Silicones - Can go from -115 to 315°C and offer very low dielectric constant and a dielectric strength of 22KV
-
Epoxies – Used for encapsulation where a tough, rigid, durable encapsulant is needed
-
Coatings - When potting is not possible due to reasons of layout or added cost, it may be possible to coat the wound component, PCB or assembly with materials using a variety of techniques such as Spraying, Dipping, Brushing or Dispensing.
Casting Resins
Lens Polyurethane casting resins are designed for use in the Rapid Prototyping, Model Making and the Special Effects industries.
Techsil supply a selected range of BJB high quality polyurethane resins together with a range of custom made products.
