Catalyst

Catalysts are chemical substances employed to speed up the cure of adhesives, sealants, potting / encapsulation compounds and impregnants; frequently used as the B component of a two part thermosetting adhesive, sealant or potting compound.

Adhesives might physically react such as Hotmelt or they might chemically react.  In the latter case they will require something to catalyse them, or in other words start off the process of chemical cross linking.

Techsil can offer a full gamut of catalyst options to suit the chemistry of the adhesive, sealant or resin you require

More general RTV silicone catalysts are DBT, RTV9811, SRC18, Beta 7 whereas some materials are split into specific two component resin and hardener systems.   Epoxy and Polyurethane are usually offered in matching two component resin and hardener kits.

Other methods of catalyzing adhesives, sealants and resins are by using heat, UV-light, moisture & the absence of oxygen.
