Momentive RTV142 is a white, one component ready to use adhesive sealant which meets the stringent standards of NASA’s ASTM E595 for low outgassing.
Momentive RTV142 is a one component, ready to use adhesive sealant, which cures tough, durable resilient silicone rubber on exposure to atmospheric moisture at room temperature. When this sealant cures Methyl alcohol vapours are released from the surface as a byproduct, these vapours have low odour and are non-corrosive to metals.
This white, low outgassing silicone sealant has a thixotropic paste consistency, enabling use on vertical or overhead surfaces without sagging, but should not be used in a thickness greater than 6mm (1/4 inch).
RTV142 is suited for critical electronic adhesive, gasketing and sealing applications where a high level of volatile condensable materials cannot be tolerated.
