MOMENTIVE BRANDS & PRODUCTS

Encapsulants & Silicone Gels
Momentive's silicone gels and encapsulants offer high performance, with increased miniaturisation capabilities and long-term dependability for potting, bonding and sealing applications. Designed to protect, isolate and embed delicate electronic components.
Ideal for electronics, LED and lighting, appliances, and more.

Adhesives & Sealants
Momentive’s silicone based adhesives offer excellent adhesion and strength. The range includes RTV silicones, valued for their electrical and thermal conductivity, heat resistance and adhesion to plastic and metal substrates, are ideal for industrial sealing applications subject to extreme temperatures and chemical exposure.
Used across automotive, aerospace, and electronics.

Thermal Gap Fillers
High-performance thermally conductive silicone gap fillers which are dispensed to fill air gaps and voids in electronic components. These non-adhesive curing silicones form a soft stress absorbing interface, which improves cooling by working with heat sinks to dissipate heat from critical electronic parts.
Designed for the automotive, electronics, and household appliance industries.

Conformal Coatings
Momentive's range of silicone conformal coating materials are fast curing and flame retardant, with corrosion resistance. These coatings employ a distinct formulation that helps to prevent the occurrence of corrosion on vital PCB components and surfaces.
Designed for the electronics industry. Find out more about Momentive Conformal Coatings in our resource centre.
Snapsil™ Electronics Bonding
Enable electronics and electrical component manufacturers to optimise production speed and adhesion quality without exposing sensitive components to potentially damaging heat-cure processing. These room-temperature, condensation-cure adhesives form a strong bond to most substrates, including metals, polymer resins and glass.
SilCool™ Thermal Management
Thermal interface materials, characterised by excellent thermal conductivity and consistent, long term heat transfer performance. This range includes grease compounds, adhesives, encapsulants, and potting comounds. Excellent candidates for electronic and other applications where thermal management and high heat transfer are critical.
SilGrip™ Pressure Sensitive Adhesives
This range of silicone pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA) from Momentive Performance Materials which adhere to a wide variety of surfaces, are generally reliable over a broad temperature range, and typically thoughtfully balance tack and peel properties depending on the application.
Addisil™ Heat Cure Bonding
Excellent where industries require high quality heat cured rubber products. These offer high mechanical performance, a broad range of durometers, and one component ready to use options. Addisil™ materials utilise a platinum catalyst, which may be desirable in applications where regulatory compliance, transparency and mechanical performance are important.
Siltrust™ Encapsulants & Coatings
This full line of encapsulants, adhesives, sealants and potting materials is engineered to endure the harsh environments in which solar panels operate, while generally improving the light-to-electricity conversion yield. Offering stability under extreme humidity, temperature and ultraviolet-radiation conditions.
INVISISIL™ Optical Bonding
Offering both the optical clarity and protection required by advanced optical applications, including LED lighting materials. Delivering high optical stability and light transmittance, INVISISIL products can also contribute to the durability and reliability of devices through their long term resistance to yellowing or delamination.
SILICONE RTVs
SILICONE SUITABLE MATERIALS:
Momentive silicone-based adhesives are suitable for bonding to glass, wood, natural and synthetic fibre, painted surfaces, and many metals and plastics. Their RTVs can adhere to plastic and metal substrates, while their pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs) are suitable for low surface energy materials amongst others.
WHAT ARE SILICONE RTVs?
RTV stands for room temperature vulcanising, silicone RTVs are silicone rubbers which will cure at room temperature, without the addition of heat. They are often used in the electronics industry and for bonding, sealing and encapsulation applications.

Common Silicone FAQs
The one-part silicones are designed to stick so it depends on what cure temperature you want to use (less than 100C, you should look at moisture cure). The other major factor is the materials to be bonded. PTFE, Polypropylene, Polyethylene or POM (polyacetal) are very difficult to bond too. Everything else is normally possible without a primer.
Additionally, PSAs (Pressure Sensitive Adhesives) will bond silicone to itself and other materials like a contact adhesive with instant tack. They are particularly good for lamination and sheets.

It depends on the application, but silicone offers some unique properties.
- High and Low Temperature – silicone is resistant to long term exposure and remains elastic
- Resists Ultraviolet light (UV), Ozone, and weathering for long term exterior use.
- Generally safe to use and, when approved, is found in food contact and medical applications.
- Can be made, by design, to stick or release from most substrates as an adhesive or mould maker.
Thermal Resistance describes the thermal properties of a material and how it resists heat at a specific thickness. Thermal resistance is proportional to the thickness of the material, but it can be affected by gaps that occur between contact surfaces.
A mould release such as petroleum jelly or Teflon (PTFE) based are good. Contact our Team for more advice.
No. Paint first, then apply silicone.
This depends on the application, most times try and mechanically remove most of it. If the substrates allow (plastics are sensitive), try solvents like Cyclohexane. We also offer SilstripNHLO - a Silicone Digester that eats silicone but is not harmful too many other materials.
Yes, we carry a range of pigments. Please contact us for more information or view our range of pigments.
