Silicone Conformal Coating

Conformal coatings are an essential polymeric layer for extending the life and reliability of PCBs (printed circuit board) and are used across industry including automotive, aerospace, industrial, and electronics. There are a range of materials available for conformal coatings to protect PCB components from moisture, dust and other environmental damage, including corrosion.

Why choose a silicone conformal coating to prevent corrosion? 

Typically, silicone is less resistant to corrosive gases, however, Momentive has formulated silicone conformal coatings which can prevent corrosion. The unique formula utilised outperformed other coatings when tested against salt spray and noxious gas corrosion, including acrylic, polyurethane, and polyolefin.

SILTRUST™ ECC3051S Solvent Free Conformal Coating

A transparent, 1-component, low viscosity silicone conformal coating material which cures with exposure to atmospheric moisture to form a flexible coating. Also cures quickly in ambient conditions without equipment and can achieve faster tack-free time with exposure to mild heat. Helps reduce the potential for corrosion of electronic components and has been found to surpass other polymers in corrosion prevention. Potential uses include conformal coating of electrical parts, moisture-proof coating of circuit boards, and thin section potting of electronic parts.

SILTRUST™ ECC3050S Conformal Coating

A low viscosity, conformal coating, solventless silicone which cures rapidly at room temperature to a soft transparent rubber. Can also be cured using a low temperature oven process to reduce time, ideal for high volume production conformal coating of printed circuit board assemblies with temperature limited components. SILTRUST™ ECC3050S has excellent adhesion with long term moisture protection.
