Momentive RTV142C Low Outgassing Silicone

Momentive RTV142C is part of the RTV142 series of low outgassing silicones which are one component, ready to use adhesive sealants. RTV142C cures to a tough, durable silicone rubber on exposure to atmospheric moisture at room temperature.

This material has a thixotropic paste consistency allowing for both vertically and overhead surface applications without sagging but can also be diluted with solvents to create a highly flowable material.

The RTV142 series of sealants utilize a moisture cure system and release methyl alcohol vapours as a by-product of cure. These vapours have low odour and are non-corrosive to metals.

RTV142C should not be used in thicknesses of greater than 6mm to ensure curing is not inhibited.

This material is well suited for critical electronic adhesive, gasketing, weatherproofing and sealing applications where a high level of volatile condensable materials cannot be tolerated. RTV142C is ideal for electronics, aerospace, satellites, spacecraft and defence applications.

RTV142C meets the stringent standards of ASTM E595 for low outgassing.
